Knaresborough Town Women Under 18s

This team has been in existence (in various forms) since the 2016/2017 season when the core of girls still playing in this team started to play at grass roots level.

The first season saw the squad play in local galas to get the girls into the feel of matches, but to retain the fun element.  This was followed by three years in the Harrogate and District League competing against teams locally.

In the final season the girls played some amazing football and went undefeated, winning the league before COVID 19 struck.  A feat that is still talked about today.  Scoring along the way over 70 goals!!!

The team then moved to the more competitive York Girls League and into their First Division.  Matches were played a lot further afield across North and East Yorkshire.  The title being won by the girls on the last day of the season away at Wiggington. Back-to-back titles being secured in two different leagues.

The girls had shown great skill and development and so the decision was made to move to the West Riding League, which contained the best teams in the region.  The girls played in Division Two for their first season (2021-2022) and after a few roller-coaster games and famous wins, a league title was won once again on the last day of the season this time at home.

The team had just completed a three-season stretch winning the title in each one.  This was so impressive due to the increase in completion year on year.  Promotion to Division One was confirmed where the girls have been playing ever since.

During the last two seasons the team has improved their league position year-on-year and last season won the West Riding League Cup Under 16’s.

New additions in recent years have helped develop the squad both in quality and depth, which has translated into continued success both on the field and off.
